I have a new lipstick obsession, and it’s drugstore. Monday just got better!
I like these lipsticks by Kate Moss so much that, as it says in the title, I will fight you for them. Except I wouldn’t actually do that because I can’t even do one decent push-up. So fighting is not actually an option here.
Sometime between Ellis Red and Fire & Ice, I realized that I have some sort of sick obsession with red lipstick. If I see a wall of lipsticks, I go straight for the red shade. I just have to. I can’t explain it. Anyways, when I saw that Kate Moss was doing a drugstore line and there was a red lipstick in there, I found myself standing in front of the display one day, out of the blue. You know how it is. And then somehow, 01 (the red shade) ended up in my hands and then somehow, and I’m still trying to figure out how this part happened, made itself a nice permanent home on my vanity. Oh god.

It’s a blue-based red. Sheered out, it becomes a gorgeous berry stain, yet it reads much louder when built up to full intensity. Think red-red, not opaque berry red. It smells like Rimmel’s old lipstick line, sort of sugary in the vaguely artificial sense. I like it because it reminds me of my very first lipsticks, but something to keep in mind for those of you with sensitive noses.
I wore this for an entire month in Taiwan. I like to wear it with absolutely nothing else on my face, which probably looks strange, but I don’t care. I like it so much that I started eyeing the bright pink in the line, 02, which isn’t even available in the US. This is the part of the story where I say ‘thank you’ about a thousand times to Liz, or as some call her, Liz-Buddha, who agreed to partake in a ridiculous lip product/book swap.
I wore 02 for the first time today, and guess what? I love this one too. Not as much as 01 because as fabulous as 02 is, it’s not red. But it’s still a lovely, loud pink that demands attention.
And of course, I have to throw in something about the packaging. It’s got Kate Moss’ signature on the tube, which in my opinion, ups the cool factor by 100 at least. Well done, Rimmel.

I also always gravitate toward red, but now I have too many and I’ve tried to stop the red fixation. The pink one is really nice, too!

I have the nude and I like it too! I can actually wear it and not look like I died in a fight with you for that red one.
They are so hard to find in stock! And there’s supposed to be a silver one too.

I saw these on sale at CVS a couple weeks ago (at 40% off!!) and I’m kind of kicking myself for not picking up the red and the peachy pink color (I think it’s #12?) I’m waiting for the next sale…
What?! How did I not know this? It’s ok, 01 was worth the full price. Definitely pick a couple of these up if they go on sale again though.
Oh, I will! I think the cosmetics sales at CVS cycle through about every 5 weeks or so (or at least that’s what my friend told me, who used to work there).

I have 01 and it’s really beautiful. I also have 08, and it’s a great neutral pink for my tanned skin (NC42). These are like chips- I can’t have just one!
omg they’re like the Olive Oil Potato Chips from Trader Joe’s -___- I think 08 might wash me out, but bet it looks gorgeous on you!

these are so pretty on you! (and just way prettier lipsticks than i expected for some reason) I totally love the pink but the red is so wearable too which might be just right for me!
Rimmel has always been a favorite for me. For all their shortcomings, they do make some pretty awesome shades. Love this red, you should definitely check it out!

If you like this, I recommend you try Revlon Matte Really Red (my favorite, and still quite cheap).
I’ve seen that one! The color is gorgeous, but the Revlon Matte formula just doesn’t agree with my lips.
