1. Finds of the week:

  • Love the gorgeous photography on Roost, how did I not discover this amazing blog earlier?
  • These muffins are supposed to taste like cinnamon-sugar doughnuts (topped with fresh strawberries and buttercream to boot) and require absolutely no frying. Comes from one of my tried-and-true dessert sources, so I’ll definitely be baking a pan soon!
  • I’ve never been a fan of flats, but I snapped up a couple of pairs in the recent sales that are surprisingly comfortable—and more importantly, cute. I’ve dubbed the bejeweled ankle-chain flats from Zara my princess shoes. I’d say it’s an apt description, and I’m glad I went with these instead of the version I’d previously been eyeing (these have goat leather uppers, those were made of an unpleasantly stiff synthetic material).

2. Do you draft your posts in advance, or write them on the spur of the moment?

I used to write my posts much closer to (or on, let’s be honest) the date of publication, but lately I’ve been trying to write and pre-schedule posts as much as possible. This one, for example, is being completed on Sunday. It definitely helps free up my schedule during the week!

3. Which camera do you use, and do you have a dream camera?

I love my Canon Rebel XSi (I shoot with the 18-55mm kit lens, which could probably use an upgrade), but I do confess a serious lemming for the Canon Mark II (and a non-kit lens). Alas, this amateur photographer just can’t justify the cost of either one.

To take part in TWW, simply copy/paste the questions and answer them in the comments below.

  1. 1. Finds of the week: virtually nothing! I’ve been trying to save some money and get posts scheduled for my upcoming holiday, so I haven’t had much fun!

    2. I usually draft and schedule posts in advance, especially when I know I’ll be busy. It feels good to schedule all the posts halfway through the week and take a little break for the rest of the week ;)

    3. I have a Panasonic Lumix GX1 with the kit lens. I’m thinking about upgrading to a real DSLR (probably a Canon) soon. My pictures no longer look sharp enough to me!

  2. 1. Finds of the week: Ketchup pasta is actually not bad, made it as a quick lunch yesterday. Just added some red pepper flakes, basil, and butter to the mix.

    2. Do you draft your posts in advance, or write them on the spur of the moment? Most of the time it’s kind of spur of the moment (yeah that’s why I’m a horrible blogger), but when I have a cool idea/time, I’d definitely write them in advance.

    3. Which camera do you use, and do you have a dream camera?
I use a Nikon D3100 and switch off between its kit lens and a 50mm. I’m pretty content with my camera right now, though I am looking into a good point-and-shoot because carrying that giant hunk glass and plastic is pretty inconvenient sometimes.

  3. 1. Finds of the week: Hmmm nothing really! Ph, except for another Snoopy t-shirt from Old Navy that was 30%off. How could I say no? :)

    2. Do you draft your posts in advance, or write them on the spur of the moment? If I’m going on holidays, I draft posts way in advance. I wish I was like that all the time. Sometimes I’ll get a few days done in advance, but most of the time I just do them the day before.
    3. Which camera do you use, and do you have a dream camera? I use a Cannon Rebel as well, but I want a Nikon D3200. But I think I want to get a new MAC in the fall. SIGH.

  4. 1. Finds of the week:

I just got back from the lunch at the park (a thing where vendors and performers happen every Wednesday here in town) and picked up a really fancy sandwich from a food stand that’s normally the coffee shop at the library. That sentence was confusing. In conclusion: it was fancy and yummy and gourmet-seeming. Salami. Olive tapanade.

    2. Do you draft your posts in advance, or write them on the spur of the moment?

I usually write them the same day, but I wrote today’s post (#ThingsIveNever post. You should totally do this, MM), yesterday, since I had plans this morning. I think I might write ahead more often…

    3. Which camera do you use, and do you have a dream camera?

I usually use my Nikon D50 dSLR. It’s nice. I’m also thinking of picking up a new HD video camera for videos. We’ll see.

  5. 1. Finds of the week:
Tesori D’Oriente Marrakech Shower Cream. It has a neroli and cardamom scent which is just gorgeous!

    2. Do you draft your posts in advance, or write them on the spur of the moment?
I schedule most of my posts in advance. I wouldn’t be able to keep up otherwise!

    3. Which camera do you use, and do you have a dream camera?
I have a Canon Powershot A590, although most of the photos on my blog are taken by my bf with his DSLR. It’s from Pentax, but I’m not sure what model it is.

  6. You have many many years of high heels left in you! I lost steam a few years ago but still hop on the heels once in a while so as to not lose it. Zara has so many pretty shoes but they’re all really uncomfortable. :s

    1. Finds of the week: The BECCA makeup set I just posted about!

    2. Do you draft your posts in advance, or write them on the spur of the moment? Combination of both. Used to be always on the spur. Now I upload the photos first and come up with the rambling later.

    3. Which camera do you use, and do you have a dream camera? I have a cute $80 Canon Powershot and have no idea what comes next. Help me!

  7. 1. Finds of the week:
    My facial oil.

    2. Do you draft your posts in advance, or write them on the spur of the moment?
    Both *hangs head in shame*

    3. Which camera do you use, and do you have a dream camera?
Panasonic. I want something by Canon next :)

  8. I KNOW–I discovered the Roost blog a month or so ago and absolutely fell in love with…well, everything! It’s all so beautiful!

    1. Finds of the week: Shiseido SPF Powder Foundation (I’ve only been using it 2 days but so far, I am IMPRESSED!)

    2. I don’t do my best writing on command. My WordPress is filled to the brim with drafts–I just get spur-of-the-moment writing urges and go for it, knocking out 3 or 4 at a time. I write about half of the post and will leave the actual testing-phase parts for when I’m actually done testing. :P

    3. I use a Canon Rebel T3i that I really like and have a Canon PowerShot SX130 IS point-and-shoot for carrying around/going out/swatch photos. For the Rebel, I mostly use my 18-55 kit lens. I have a 40mm pancake lens that I honestly don’t really use often at all–maybe if I am brave enough to start posting face swatches one day, the 40mm will come in handy. But I have been DREAMING about getting the perfect macro lens for months. REALLY want the 100mm f/2.8L IS USM Macro Lens. Pricey but I WILL have it!!! I love macro photography!

  9. So, I have to confess – I bought those Zara shoes you showed previously after you posted about them, because OMG they were so pretty! And I hate to tell you…but they are one of the most comfortable pairs of flats I own! I thought for sure that they wouldn’t be, but I scored them online just before I went to Ottawa in May, thinking that if they didn’t work I could return ‘em, but I ended up loving them so. damn. much. So…thank you for showing them! I’m pretty fussy with shoes too, I wonder if you had tried a wonky pair? ‘Cause I walked all around Ottawa with them without issues.

However….these new ones you are showing me might need to be mine as well. Good thing we don’t live in the same place because you just might have a twinsie on your hands LOL

    • HAHAHAHA well I’m happy you like those flats so much because they’re definitely cute! I just wasn’t in love with how they looked on me, and I’m quite picky with comfort when it comes to flats (but I will buy a pair of heels that kill my feet no questions asked LOL double standards). Aww wish we did! I want a Toya twinsie.

  10. Oh mannn, those muffins look amazeballs!

    1. Finds of the week:
Camanu Rosemary Nettle shampoo bar! I found it at a health store in Eugene before heading out, and I actually really like it. It’s very foamy and quite moisturizing, and best of all, portable!

    2. Do you draft your posts in advance, or write them on the spur of the moment?
Almost always in advance, but when I’m super busy/behind I tend to write them right before posting.

    3. Which camera do you use, and do you have a dream camera?
I use an Olympus E-PM1 Micro Four Thirds with 14-42 mm lens, and I’m quite happy with it. I don’t really know anything about photography, and sadly lack the time to learn it all, but I like it because it can be easy to use but also offers a lot of customizability. Right now, I pretty much just use it as a point-and-shoot, but I hope to someday learn how to really use it!
