First Look: Victoria’s Secret Summer Bronzing Collection

First off, apologies for my absence these past few days, but it has been a long week.  You’ll hear more about it on Monday, along with my teeth-whitening regimen, so get  excited (ok, maybe not the right word).  Woohoo!

The one bright spot on my week was the Victoria’s Secret summer beauty collection, which arrived on my doorstep yesterday.  There’s more product waiting to be photographed, but I thought I’d show you the eyeshadows and bronzers first.

There’s two new Eyeshadow Quads, the first in Eye Contact, full of practical shades and beautiful neutrals.

And then there’s Come Closer, which has a gorgeous robin’s egg blue, along with a taupe, a pink, and a shimmery highlight shade.

There’s also three shades of Pressed Mineral Bronzing Powder (Sunstruck, Bronze Ambition, and Heat Wave), and I have two to show you.

Bronze Ambition is a chocolate-brown color:

Sunstruck, which I’m wearing right now, is a glowy, tawny gold.  Not at all orange.  Definitely Makeup Morsels approved.

And in other news, the brand has hopped on the Pinterest bandwagon lately.

Hope your weekend is humming along nicely so far.  Is there anything here you’d like me to review right away?

Senna Mod Muse Preview & Poll!

It’s been awhile since I’ve gotten this excited over spring makeup, but I’m head over heels for Senna’s brand new Mod Muse collection.  The colors are just so cheery, I’m having a hard time remembering why I dislike spring in the first place (oh right, APs and allergies).  A little preview of the collection below:

And please cast your vote before leaving!

Hope your weekend is wrapping up nicely,

Makeup Morsels’ 2011 NYE Guide: Preview

Hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas, and got some good deals at today’s after-Christmas sales (I mostly shopped online.  It is a well-known fact that you need to be very intimidating and very brave to compete with all those shoppers).

First order of business: I’m re-opening my giveaway for 48 hours.  So far, I’ve had to disqualify 3 of the winners, which makes me sad.  But that’s more chances for you to win! So get entering.

Secondly, this week is going to be pre-New Year’s Eve week here on Makeup Morsels.  I’ll be covering fun products for party-worthy looks tomorrow, and all your New Year’s Eve essentials on Thursday.  And Wednesday, well, I don’t want to ruin the surprise.  Let’s just say it has to do with lip products, and I’m excited.

Oh yes, and there might be something deliciously avocado-related on Friday.  That is, if I can pull myself together and shoot the pictures in time.

Did you have a good Christmas?  Anyone actually brave the malls for after-Christmas sales?

Preview: Victoria’s Secret Bombshell Seduction Perfume

Here’s a preview of the mystery perfume I was talking about!

I think they did a great job making the packaging holiday-like.  It reminds me of a peppermint decked out in crazy colors (this is always a good thing):

I’m keeping mum on the actual scent for now, but is everyone in agreement that crazy peppermint packaging is a good thing?

Tasty TGIF Tidbits 7/22/11 + My First Restaurant Review

Happy Friday! I really want to do more food and restaurant reviews.  I do.  But every time I dig through my archives, I always run across that Yi Ping post.  And then I’m like, damnit, I want to be back in Taipei munching on scrumptious lamb chops and devouring salmon sashimi, but no, I’m not going to see that place for at least another year. Finally, I snapped out of my funk to bring you something food-related.  This blog isn’t called Makeup Morsels for nothing, yaknow. I’m reviewing Salut Tea Salon today, which isn’t exactly in the area (and by the area, I mean America).  I don’t know how many of you will ever be able to visit, but I’m mainly trying to get a handle on writing about food again.  My previous posts weren’t really reviews (unless you call a bunch of pictures and me going yum yum yum a review).  Anyways, I pulled a bunch of files off the school computers today, and since these were already edited, I thought why not?
