Pai Hand Cream: So Wholesome You’ll Want to Eat It*

*Actually, I take that back.  No matter how wholesome your hand cream is, you probably shouldn’t eat it.

For those of you who don’t remember, this is my second encounter with Pai skincare.  The first is depicted below (and you can read the review here):

With winter fast approaching on the horizon (and temperatures somehow still up to 100 degrees Fahrenheit), I thought it would be the perfect time to test out a new hand cream.  Winter tends to wreak havoc on my skin, making my dry patches even dryer, so Pai’s Fragonia & Sea Buckthorn Hand Cream sounded like a promising fix.

The hand cream comes in a cute, squat bottle with a pump dispenser (that strangely reminds me of a penguin).  I have to admit, I have a ‘thing’ for Pai’s packaging.  I think they have the whole design-reflects-the-brand-concept down pat, from the font to the logo to the printed images on the bottle.  The container is made of plastic, but it feels sturdy, and the lid clicks securely shut.  I also love that the pump dispenser works well; there’s nothing more stressful than a pump that gushes forth product like Niagra Falls. Quench Your Skin with Diane Lai

Hello, lovely readers *sleepy wave*

If you didn’t pick up on the sleepy undertones in that first sentence, let me just go ahead and say, “I’m sleepy today.”  So please.  If you read my review, and it says something like “la di da and then there was a tree that ate pizza,” it’s because I have currently lost the ability to speak coherently and articulately.  But really, what else is new?

As the colder months close in (obviously not here in SoCal, but you know…in other places), it’s time to take a good look at your skincare lineup, and possibly add in a moisturizing product or two.  After all, dry patches are no fun, and the sooner you start hydrating your skin, the less damage control you’ll eventually have to do.

I learned this the hard way last winter, when I sort of puttered around doing nothing while my cheeks became dryer and dryer.  When my forehead (which typically leans on the oily/combo side of things) started drying out as well, it finally hit me that I had to do incorporate some more moisture into my skincare routine.

My weapon of choice was Diane Lai.  The Continue reading

Trind Nail Care Video

Trind recently launched a video giving some background on their products.  I’ve already reviewed their Perfect System here, but this is something extra if you’re interested.

And as a refresher, this is how my nails looked after I started using their products:

Trind has also recently launched a Keratin based nail repair kit with no trace of formaldehyde resin at all. This product is meant for women with very thin, damaged and sensitive nails after the use of acrylics.

Formaldehyde in nail products doesn’t bug me as long as it’s formaldehyde resin.  To the best of my knowledge, when formaldehyde becomes formaldehyde resin, its chemical structure changes and becomes basically harmless.  Correct me if I’m wrong, because while I’ve done some research, it hasn’t been extensive.

Anyways, if you have qualms about formaldehyde resin (or if your nails are extremely damaged), I’d recommend you check out Trind’s new nail repair kit.

Hope you’re having a nice end-of-weekend!  I spent tonight cooking dinner and dessert for the next week.  Somehow, I’ve become the only chef in my family…which means I get to make whatever I want, and everyone else has to eat it and smile.

I’ve decided to review my Dior Addict lipsticks tomorrow, so stay tuned for some crazy lipstick lady!

Weekend Haul

There was a really good deal on Revlon lipsticks at CVS last week (sorry, it ended yesterday.  My timing is not the best).

Quite possibly the reddest, most in-your-face lipstick I own:

Revlon lipstick in Fire & Ice

I would not recommend this as an everyday lipcolor, or a red for people who are just starting out with red.  It is very loud and pigmented.  I’m still in the process of editing the swatches (which refused to show up accurately on camera), so those will go up later this week.

I will admit that I mainly bought this for the packaging.

Have you hauled anything recently?
