Perfection

Not a word I use frequently.  But the ROTK Complete Recordings soundtrack is perfect, and worth every penny of the $24.99 I paid.  I don’t know how many more times I have to write to iTunes until they carry the FOTR and Two Tower Recordings (did give them a reprieve a couple years ago), but if Frodo had enough determination to reach Mordor, I will follow in his footsteps and send a final email to the iTunes people.  Who, by the way, have always been a lovely bunch.  I hope they aren’t too annoyed with me over there.

Sorry for the picture quality, this was taken with my camera phone.

Most of the tracks are available as individual purchases.  If you have the money and love LOTR, I’d urge you to go ahead and spend the $25.  If not, my top pick off this album is “The Lighting of the Beacons.”  $0.99 will get you 9 minutes of pure happiness.

Lately, I’ve eased up on the rap, and switched over to blasting this album when I’m driving.  It transforms my commute into a road filled with adventure (getting lost), danger (merging lanes), uncertainty (yellow lights) and epic deeds (smooth turns/lane changes).

Hope you have wonderful things in store this weekend!  I’ve been working on a whole slew of makeup-related posts, which I know have been few and far between this week.  Fear not, I’ll put the ‘beauty’ back in ‘beauty blog’ starting Monday.

Happy Monday!

I was looking through pictures from summer today, and it got me all nostalgic for Taiwan.  I can’t wait to go back soon~

Goofing off with my dinky 5 megapixel camera at night:

Guess the object:

Hint: it’s famous.

And slightly clearer here:

Got any summer plans at this point in time?  What about Easter plans?

Miscellaneous Monday Morsels 4/11/11

Hello all!

I’m in an atrocious mood today (my own fault *sigh*), so I’ll keep this post short.

*Update: I decided to suck it up and move on shortly after writing this post, so please don’t be alarmed or confused by my cheery responses.  I’m not secretly gnashing my teeth and leering at you behind my computer screen!  I promise =)

A couple of movies I watched recently via Redbox:

The Tourist surprised me.  It was highly entertaining, but don’t go in expecting an action/thriller.  This is definitely more of a comedy.

Tangled was a good pick as well!  I want glowing hair like that…which reminds me that I have to tell you all about my time with Hair Crystalz soon.

If you have a Redbox kiosk in your area, I highly recommend that you check it out.  They send out promo codes and freebies frequently, which makes their business even more tempting.  Plus, there’s no commitment required.  You can rent one DVD the whole year, or you can rent one per day.  Also, you can return your DVD to any Redbox location in the US…you’re losing out if you haven’t tried it yet.  So go!

Happy Monday :D  I’ll attempt to deal with this storm cloud brewing over my head, and return in higher spirits tomorrow.

Miscellaneous Monday Morsels 4/3/11

Happy Monday everyone!

My spring break is officially over, and I’m a sad camper.  Still, summer break is almost here, so I’ve just got to get through these next 2-3 months, and all will be fine and dandy.

Have you ever watched a movie that everyone else loves, but when you see it, all you can think is ohmygod, I’m about to start counting sheep…?

I don’t understand how anyone can sit through this movie.  I will admit that the cinematography is gorgeous. It’s absolutely stunning, in fact.  But…the plot.  Maybe I was too young when I last watched this, but the story just seemed to drag on and on forever.  When it ended, I turned to my mom, and said (very eloquently), “Huh?!”

If you’ve watched Hero before, did you like it?  Should I give it another chance?  I feel like I should, but the thought of sitting through the entire thing again fills me with dread…

Here’s a little something else which is quite pretty, and looks like it will hold my attention much better than Hero did: Continue reading

Happy Monday!

I just got back from San Diego, and let me tell you, there is no better car companion than mytigerlily.  We can talk for two hours straight, or we can sit back and listen to Eminem (well, I was listening to Eminem for two hours.  I dunno if she switched to something else after awhile…)

Oh yeah, and speaking of Eminem…

You should all know by now that I am an Eminem fan to the extreme. Maybe not on the Stan level, but still.  I think he is a lyrical genius, and I’m pretty sure that’s not just my opinion.  But a lot of people take his lyrics at face value, which is problematic cuz yaknow, at face value, they’re pretty beeks (that’s a combination of bad and eeks).

It’s all political;

If my music is literal,

Then I’m a criminal

How the **** could I raise a little girl?

I couldn’t.  I wouldn’t be fit to.

-Eminem (Sing for the Moment)

source: from the archives of…my memory.

To sum up, if you’re listening to Slim Shady or Eminem, keep in mind that both of them are rapper personas.  Just take what he says with a grain of salt, which btw, is good advice for a lot of things in life.  And no, I’m not saying you have to go listen to Eminem’s music.  If you don’t like it, don’t listen.

Totally unrelated, but the other day I was digging through some old binders, and found my Physics Midterm study guide:

top: a diagram showing why a cat lands on its feet when you push it off a wall

bottom: the trajectory of a raccoon

Hmm, I must’ve been pretty good at Physics to draw such detailed pictures!
