1. Macarons or macaroons?

Macarons, I’ve never been a huge fan of coconut in my food. And macarons are so pretty! I’m still waiting for the day when I finally eat one in Paris…rose-colored glasses 24/7.

2. What’s your favorite time of day?

On weekdays, the ten minutes right after I wake up, before I get out of bed. I feel so peaceful and comfortable. And then my second alarm goes off, and the illusion is shattered…

3. In your opinion, what’s the best thing to buy at the drugstore?

Definitely lipstick. I love a luxe high-end lipstick as much as the next person, but there are so many good options at the drugstore nowadays, and I’m rarely disappointed. You can build up a basic ‘lipstick wardrobe’ (stop looking at me like that) very easily, and then ‘supplement’ it (seriously, stop staring) with one or two splurges.

1. My room currently smells like…

Slatkin & Co Fireside, Yankee Candle Maple Pancakes, smoke, Victoria’s Secret Bombshell in Love EDP.

2. Do you use self tanner?

You know how I feel about tanning beds or letting your skin bake in the sun (DON’T DO IT), but self tanner is an entirely different story. There comes a time every summer when I start looking like a faded ghost next to my friends, and this my friends, means it’s time to break out the self tanner. It makes me look glowy, in that I-got-10-hours-of-sleep-and-I’m-radiating-health way. It’s all a lie of course, but it’s a pretty convincing one. Still loving Lavera right now.

3. What’s one of your recently rediscovered beauty favorites?

Victoria’s Secret Incredible EDP. One of the few warm fragrances that’s light enough for me to wear in the summer. Plus it’s so comforting, like the warm weather version of Auric Blends Egyptian Musk. And there’s also Phyto 7 Daily Hydrating Botanical Cream. I saw it in one of Lisa Eldridge’s YouTube videos (if you’re not subscribed to her already, click it), and thought the product looked vaguely familiar. Yes, there are times when I’m a little fuzzy on what I do or do not own. I think this is an indicator that I have too much makeup, does this ever happen to you? It turns out I do have a tube of this, and after a couple of uses I’ve decided it’s fantastic stuff. Maybe I’ll get around to writing a review eventually.

High: …Well, my teeth are white(r)

Low: So tired I keep getting lost on the way to school and driving in two lanes at the same time.

2. What’s your favorite hairstyle (on yourself)? And ‘just rolled out of bed’ doesn’t count. Sorry.

Loose curls with a 1.5 inch barrel.

3. What does your dream home look like?

A Tuscan villa or apartment in Paris (if you’re going to dream, might as well dream big). Flooded with soft light. Just a touch of lucite, high ceilings and a bed I could sink into at the end of the day. And there’s more here.

1. Do you daydream?

Yes, I do it all the time, especially when I’m driving. It’s terrible. I go through life with a pair of rose-colored glasses in hand, which I know is ridiculously naive. It’s just the way I think, and I’m fine with that. Although I might want to work on the whole dreaming-while-driving thing.

2. Film or digital photography?.

Digital. I did film photography for about a year, and while it was fun making sandwich negatives, I much prefer the speed and convenience of digital photography.

3. Favorite nonalcoholic cold beverage?

I ask because the weather is insanely hot today. I like to make a smoothie with frozen strawberries, a little bit of ice, Fage 2% Greek yogurt, honey, and the orange-strawberry-banana-juice from Trader Joe’s.
