Today brings another gorgeous piece from Illamasqua’s Generation Q collection. For all you ladies who were oohing and ahhing over the nail polish, feast your eyes.
Creator is a black varnish with silver sparkles. Sound familiar? That’s because there’s a about a million of these floating around in the polish world, yet Creator is probably my favorite rendition of the shade to date. The sparkles are densely packed and irregularly shaped, so when the light hits it’s truly something to behold:
Writing about nail polish tends to make me go all weepy-eyed and poetic, and while I try to keep the cringe-worthy cliches to a minimum, I just have to ask, doesn’t that shot above remind you of starlight glimmering on the surface of the sea at night?
Ok, I’ll stop before I dig myself any deeper into this hole.
I’ve mentioned before that I’m not a huge fan of sparkly black nail polish. That hasn’t changed; my personal preferences tend toward brighter colors. But during the two days I wore this, I’d catch myself turning my nails to the light every now and then, admiring their sparkly magic. The black cream base is rich and deep, and the silver particles are packed evenly. If you like black polishes and sparkly things, I can guarantee you’ll love this.
The formula, as I’ve heard is often the case with Illamasqua’s polishes, is perfect. It’s not too thick, not too thin, dries quickly, and wears exceedingly well. Removal is standard for glitter polishes.
As for that valuable life tip? If you’re constantly forgetting things and hate getting ink on your hands, do you know what the solution is? Nail polish. Grab a toothpick and go to town on your nails, preferably with something that catches the light. I guarantee you’ll be hard pressed to forget an appointment or assignment if it’s on your nails. And shiny.
It works. I promise.
Although it’s not a shade I’m usually drawn to, Illamasqua Creator is a stunning rendition of the classic black glitter polish. The formula is a dream to work with and the irregular sparkles add an interesting twist. A .5 fl oz bottle retails at $14.
What do you think of Creator? Can I get some golf claps for that life tip? What are your weekend plans? I’m about to head out to the gym. No joke.
